As we wrap up and reflect on 2022, one theme in particular sticks out: this was a year for the record books.

A record number of online shoppers—almost 60%—purchased from their mobile devices this Cyber Monday, compared to 52% last year.

Shopify reported that their merchants broke Black Friday records with over $3 billion in sales.

And at Postscript, we broke our own personal record for features released within a single calendar year, rolling out over 50 new features in 2022. Whew!

But we aren’t done yet. Read on to see a couple of additional releases this month along with a look back at some of our largest releases this year.

Postscript now integrates with Amped.

Use Amped's out-of-the-box templates so you can spend less time designing your collection units and more time running your ecommerce business. Visitors who sign up via your Amped popups, bars, announcements, etc., will automatically populate in your Postscript account and become eligible for your Welcome Series.

ARMR: Subscriber Lifetime Value Contributing Metrics

In 2022, we developed a proprietary, channel-specific measurement focused on long-term customer value: Subscriber Lifetime Value (Subscriber LTV).

Subscriber LTV forecasts the total revenue potential of your SMS subscribers, including both customers and non-customers. The driving forces behind Subscriber LTV are a set of metrics we call ARMR: Acquisition Rate, Revenue per Message, Messages per Subscriber, and Retention Rate.

Understand more about how these metrics are calculated here.

ARMR Dashboard

Postscript users can still see all of these metrics on their dashboard. Learn more about ARMR here.

Personalized Messaging at Scale

Wait for Event Branching allows merchants to easily visualize and build flows, add automated responses to subscriber actions (e.g., after they complete a purchase, respond to a prompt, and more), and collect zero-party or first-party data. With nested branching, you can scale and simulate a 1:1 experience between your brand and customers by adding several branches to a flow based on subscriber actions.

Nested Branching Example

The example above shows how your customers can experience nested branching. Pro Tip: In this example, BubSnax can collect zero-party data by tagging the subscriber so the brand knows she 1) prefers cookies, and 2) prefers to be texted monthly.

That way, future campaigns can be personalized to her preferences and, in turn, have better conversion rates. Learn more about how you can use nested branching here or hop into Flow Builder to give it a whirl!

Back-in-Stock Subscriber Opt-In and Message Automation

With supply chain issues and shortages around the world in 2022, it became more important than ever to create an optimal experience for customers interested in out-of-stock items. With our Back in Stock tool, shop visitors can sign up to be notified via SMS when an out of stock item is restocked—complete with a direct link to the product page right from the text thread. That way, brands can reclaim potentially lost revenue while simultaneously adding high-intent subscribers to their SMS list. It’s a true win-win.

As we reflect on a productive 2022 and look forward to an exciting 2023, we’d like to wish all our customers a happy holiday season. We are grateful for each and every one of you, and we can’t wait to see what we achieve together in the new year!
